Storm chaser

Olympus E-M1 MkIII

Storm force winds here overnight and this is pre dawn with a 100 km/h sand storm on my back. The storm overnight created these interesting rivulets as well as massive drifts at high tide.

Currently in discussions regarding an exhibition of my seascapes from Earlsferry and Elie. Hope to make an announcement in the Spring as need to organise a fine art printer and framer.

Apologies for the lack of any posts during the last two months but I have changed job, moved house and now live near Sheffield.

Anyway to celebrate my return I give you a landscape from when I was last in Scotland, last November.

Normal service will resume shortly.

Golden Cascade

Canon 30D

A few times I have been asked what is my favourite ever photograph and this one is in the top three. Not least as it is the most desolate location I have photographed at but it has a special geology that when the sun sets and hits the rock at a certain angle rocks which are jet black turn gold. I took a good friend to this location and his face when the rocks lit up was a picture. Believe it or not is at a caravan site and not a very posh one. No problem as I am from a working class background and can mix it with what some rich folk would call the great unwashed.

With my expertise in Engineering and Geology I predicted this location which is seldom visited by photographers could be special. Also in the distance are East and West Lomond in Fife. Surprisingly no one has ever bought this print and I plant to print it big with a special pearlescent paper for a forthcoming exhibition as I suddenly return to the professional scene after a 10 year break from photography. This was also photographed with very basic equipment which I could probably get on Ebay now for around £200. It is not what you have it is how you use it.

The Devil’s Stones

Canon 30D

There are some incredible tales of folklore in Fife. I highly recommend you read the following publication.

I have actually met David Munro, there again I have met a lot of famous people some I cannot even talk about,
