Golden Cascade

Canon 30D

A few times I have been asked what is my favourite ever photograph and this one is in the top three. Not least as it is the most desolate location I have photographed at but it has a special geology that when the sun sets and hits the rock at a certain angle rocks which are jet black turn gold. I took a good friend to this location and his face when the rocks lit up was a picture. Believe it or not is at a caravan site and not a very posh one. No problem as I am from a working class background and can mix it with what some rich folk would call the great unwashed.

With my expertise in Engineering and Geology I predicted this location which is seldom visited by photographers could be special. Also in the distance are East and West Lomond in Fife. Surprisingly no one has ever bought this print and I plant to print it big with a special pearlescent paper for a forthcoming exhibition as I suddenly return to the professional scene after a 10 year break from photography. This was also photographed with very basic equipment which I could probably get on Ebay now for around £200. It is not what you have it is how you use it.

The Devil’s Stones

Canon 30D

There are some incredible tales of folklore in Fife. I highly recommend you read the following publication.

I have actually met David Munro, there again I have met a lot of famous people some I cannot even talk about,

Lone Oak

Leica M-P240

Autumn is here. This landscape is actually photo bombed by a local wildlife photographer. See if you can spot him.

I was also stopped today on my morning walk and offered access to private land to take some landscapes with amazing views and also horses.

All going well I will be out tomorrow doing what I used to love and hopefully also holding a local exhibition of my work for purchase.

Mhairi and Mike

I am now available for small weddings or events and couples who would like fine art black and white photojournalism with a few posed formals. I have over 10 years experience and photographed over 150 weddings and for an example of my style please follow the link below. Further examples of my work to follow.

Please note this wedding was photographed with basic equipment whereas today I have state of the art cameras and the highest quality lens. Please use the contact me link and send the date and details of your wedding such as location, number of guests and approximate time of the ceremony

Note I am prepared to cover events all over Europe but the key restriction is the wedding should be small and you buy into my style. I do not stage photographs and limit posed photographs to a maximum of 15 minutes so the couple can enjoy the day with their family and friends.

Patsy

Camera Unknown

Patsy is sadly not longer with us. She was a gorgeous looking Sheltie (Shetland Sheepdog). However the good news is her owner has a new rescue Sheltie who I will be photographing soon.

Two old deers

Sony A7R

One of my favourite cities is Paris. This candid was taken when I went to a patisserie for breakfast. I couldn’t resist the shot even though the Sony A7R has a very obvious and loud shutter. You can also see me in the mirror if you look closely.
